Summary: This story follows the life of Toniya Wakanwin, from her childhood on the Great Plains, to her marriage and relocation into an adobe house, then a trailer with electric lights, and finally into a rest home as an elderly woman. Throughout her life she carries an ancient bead pot left to her by her grandmother and fulfills the role of moccasin maker, until finally passing both the pot and her cultural heritage on to her own great granddaughter.
